2nd Annual Ken Weaver Hammerfest & History Fair
When: March 6 & 7 1999 Where: The Yucaipa Adobe
The Yucaipa Adobe Blacksmiths will be hosting the second annual Ken Weaver Hammerfest. The main event will be to build a bloomery to smelt and refine iron ore. Other activities will include: adobe brick making, hawkchucking, spinning and weaving, basketmaking, candle making, gold panning, rope making, a horse shoe competion, lace making and a frontier wedding. Door prizes will be given out every hour. Come on out and enjoy the fun.


The Yucaipa Adobe is just off the 10 Freeway just West of Beaumont, CA., at 32183 Kentucky Street, Yucaipa (about one hour East of Los Angeles). The Yucaipa Regional Park and Campground is about 10 minutes away. Food and lodging are close by and plentiful. There will be an entrance fee of $3.00 for adults and $2.00 for children and seniors. Event Participants
Come out and see blacksmiths practicing their skills. Battery "B" of the U.S. Artillary will be practicing with their cannons and gattling guns. The Golden Bear Mountain men, Muleskinners gunfighting group, Yesteryear's Dancers, W.E.S.T., Riley's Minutemen, Living Legends, Oak Glen Regulators, The Logan gang, and Mexican American War Soldiers will be re-enacting their time periods. Music will be provided by the "Adobe Dudes." You will also be able to meet and visit with Don Diego Sepulveda,one of the original owners of the Yucaipa Adobe. You can listen or take part in some Cowboy Poetry. You can also take a stage coach ride. This should be an exciting two day event.
